FAQ

What about follow up applications after the initial application?

Once performance has reached the limits of its longevity, a reconstitution application has proven highly effective for optimal performance. Reconstitution to a previously treated area requires +/- 20% of the original application amount to achieve the same results.

What happens with rain and precipitation?

DUSTPODS does not wash away due to precipitation when applied for compaction because of its high level permeability increasing characteristic.

What about decreased application rates/mixtures?

Decreasing the application rate (increased coverage) can result in reduced strength, longevity and performance in certain soil types or traffic rates. For a reduction in application rate please consult with one of product specialists to assess all factors.

How do I clean application equipment after using dustpods products

DUSTPODS are water-soluble. Application equipment should simply be rinsed out after use.  high pressure washing can speed up the process.

Info about Asphalt Emulsions?

DUSTPODS are water-soluble. Application equipment should simply be rinsed out after use.  high pressure washing can speed up the process.

Info about Asphalt Emulsions?

Petroleum resin emulsions leach away with precipitation, are harmful to vegetation and ground water, become slippery when wet, are difficult to clean from application equipment and track onto vehicles.

Do we have Documentation or testimonials of road stabilization and dust control use on federal and state contracts?

Yes please email info@dustpods.com with any specific requests

The USDA Forest service and other state roads departments throughout the USA have had great success with both testing and field applications of DUSTPODS line of products through Laboratory, field-testing, fiscal and toxicity analysis.

Is DUSTPODS cost effective to use compared with other soil stabilization and dust control products?

Both private sector and government agencies constantly validate DUSTPODS are the most cost effective and preferred compaction aid and dust suppression product due to a multitude of factors, such as water conservation, transportation savings and storage convenience. When compared to traditional products, such as asphalt cement stabilization, chlorides and just water. We can provide a detailed list of road commissioners and superintendents from around the country that have successfully used DUSTPODS as a dust control agent in place of other products.

What about Magnesium Chlorides?

Magnesium Chlorides while very cheap in initial cost are back loaded withunseen expenses. All types of Chlorides are corrosive to metal so it puts ecology, equipment and vehicles at risk. The surface becomes slippery when wet. It also leaches away with precipitation so the need to re-apply is much greater. Also it is harmful to groundwater and vegetation.

What about Organic Resin Emulsions such as Tree sap and Tall Oil Pitch?

Organic Resin Emulsions are not easy to apply. They offer low tensile strength and do not create a great bond between the soil particles. They also can become tacky and stick to tires and vehicles.

What about Lignin Sulfonates?

Lignin Sulfonates are corrosive to aluminum. They leach away with precipitation and are harmful to ground water. The area that has been applied can become slippery when wet as well.
